Terms & Conditions
These terms explain how Traders Journal can be used, what users can expect from the service, and the basic rules for accounts, payments, and responsible use.
1. Who We Are
Traders Journal is managed by the Traders Journal team from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. We operate primarily from India and also serve users in other countries. If you use our website, app, or paid features, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the service.
2. What Traders Journal Is
Traders Journal is a trading journal, analytics, and educational tool. It is built to help users track trades, review performance, and improve decision-making.
Traders Journal is not a broker, dealer, exchange, clearing firm, custodian, or investment adviser. We do not provide brokerage, execution, order routing, market access, or custody services. We do not hold, receive, transfer, or handle client funds, securities, or margin, and we do not place, modify, cancel, or route orders on any account.
Everything Traders Journal does with a connected account is read-only. Your trading is carried out entirely on your own platform or account provider, under your own relationship with that provider.
3. Eligibility, Accounts, And Access
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Traders Journal. The service is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly allow accounts for anyone under 18.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login details secure. You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.
We may suspend or close accounts that are used for abuse, fraud, illegal activity, impersonation, scraping, reverse engineering, or any activity that harms the platform or other users.
4. Third-Party Connections And Integrations
Traders Journal may allow you to connect supported third-party trading platforms, terminals, trading accounts, and market data providers. These services remain independent from Traders Journal, and their names and logos belong to their respective owners. A connection or integration does not mean that a provider endorses, approves, or operates Traders Journal.
When you start a connection, you authorize Traders Journal to request and process the account information you approve through that provider’s consent screen, token, API, pairing process, or similar method. You must have authority to connect the account and must also comply with the provider’s own terms and policies.
Traders Journal offers two distinct types of integration, described separately below. They serve different purposes, request different information, and are governed by the separate rules set out in Sections 5 and 6. Each is authorized separately, and enabling one does not enable the other.
Traders Journal supports multiple independent providers. A provider may change, limit, suspend, or withdraw its service or access at any time, and we may add, change, pause, or remove an integration when necessary.
5. Trade Sync Integration
A Trade Sync Integration imports user-approved orders, fills, positions, fees and trade history into that user’s private journal. It may also update an imported position when its status or details change, and it may import related details such as executions, commissions, account identifiers, and instrument information covered by your authorization.
Trade Sync is strictly read-only. Traders Journal does not use a Trade Sync Integration to place, modify, cancel, or manage orders, to move funds, or to take any other action on your trading account.
Imported records are written to your private journal and are visible only to you, and to anyone you personally choose to share them with through the product’s own sharing features. We do not publish your imported trade records or make them available to other users.
Trade Sync operates only within the permissions your provider grants for your own account. You must have authority to connect the account, and you may not use Trade Sync to import data belonging to another person without their authority.
6. Market Data Integration
A Market Data Integration provides live and historical candle data from the user’s own provider subscription, only for that connected user. It powers charts and related market-data features and depends entirely on that user’s provider permissions, account status, subscriptions, exchange entitlements, and applicable rate or usage limits.
Market data obtained through your connection is not shared, resold, redistributed, sublicensed, published, or made available to other Traders Journal users. It is delivered only to the connected user whose own provider subscription supplied it, and it is never pooled, mirrored, or reused to serve any other account.
You may not use Traders Journal to redistribute provider market data, to make it available to another person, or to allow anyone else to consume data supplied under your account or entitlements. You remain responsible for complying with your provider’s and the relevant exchange’s market-data terms.
If your provider subscription, entitlement, or permission ends, changes, or is suspended, the corresponding market-data access in Traders Journal ends or changes with it. You should review the permissions presented by the provider before authorizing any connection.
7. Imported Trade Data
You retain your rights in the account and trade data you authorize us to import. You give Traders Journal permission to retrieve, process, organize, store, and display that data only as needed to provide the journal, synchronization, analytics, support, security, and related features you request.
Imported trade history remains in your private journal until you delete the relevant data, request account deletion, or retention is otherwise required or permitted by law. Disconnecting an integration stops future access and synchronization but does not automatically delete trade data that was already imported.
Third-party data may be delayed, incomplete, duplicated, unavailable, or later corrected by its source. You remain responsible for reviewing imported information and comparing it with the official records provided by your trading platform or account provider.
8. Plans, Premium, And Lifetime Deals
Traders Journal currently offers a free plan and a premium plan. We may add, remove, change, or pause features, pricing, plans, promotions, and limited-time offers whenever needed.
The free plan is meant to help users understand the product before upgrading. Trial access, if offered, may include premium features for a limited period shown at the time of the offer.
A lifetime deal, if offered, means access to the covered premium features for as long as that product remains active, or for a maximum of 10 years from the purchase date, whichever comes first, unless a different period is clearly stated in the offer itself.
9. Payments And Refunds
Payments may be collected through PayPal or other methods we choose to support later.
All paid plans and upgrades are generally non-refundable. Users should first evaluate the product through the free plan before purchasing a premium offer.
If there is a duplicate charge, a wrong amount charged, or another clear billing mistake, contact us promptly. Any refund exception is at our discretion or where required by applicable law.
10. No Financial Advice And No Guarantee
All content, insights, journaling tools, analytics, and educational materials provided by Traders Journal are for educational and self-review purposes only.
We do not provide financial advice, trading calls, portfolio management, or guaranteed strategies. We do not promise profits, winning trades, or any specific result.
You are fully responsible for your trading, investing, risk management, and financial decisions.
11. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the platform, attempt unauthorized access, copy or resell the service without permission, upload harmful material, or interfere with normal operation.
You also agree not to use Traders Journal in a way that breaks laws, violates another person’s rights, or damages the platform, brand, or community.
12. Intellectual Property And Licence
Traders Journal, including its software, source code, design, interface, branding, name, logo, documentation, and educational content, is owned by us or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Subject to these terms and any plan you have purchased, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for your own trading journal and review. This licence does not transfer ownership of anything to you.
You may not copy, resell, sublicense, rent, publish, decompile, reverse engineer, scrape, or create derivative works from the service or any part of it, except where such a restriction is not permitted by law.
You keep ownership of the content you create or import, including your journals, notes, uploads, and imported trade records. You grant us only the permission needed to host, process, and display that content so we can provide the service to you.
13. Termination
You may stop using Traders Journal at any time, disconnect any integration, and request deletion of your account and associated data through the available account controls or our support channels.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if your use creates a legal, security, or fraud risk, if a required third-party service becomes unavailable, or if we discontinue the service. Where reasonably possible, we will give you notice and an opportunity to export your data.
On termination, your licence to use the service ends and connected integrations stop. Sections covering imported data, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and governing law continue to apply after termination.
14. Service Changes And Availability
We may update, improve, limit, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We try to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, perfect uptime, or error-free operation.
We are not responsible for a third-party provider’s systems, availability, data accuracy, permission changes, account restrictions, security practices, or decision to change or discontinue access. Where practical, we will explain material connection failures and allow you to disconnect the affected integration.
We may also update these terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
15. Disclaimers And Limitation Of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Traders Journal is not liable for trading losses, lost profits, missed opportunities, market losses, data delays, data inaccuracies, third-party provider failures, or decisions made using the platform, and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Traders Journal and its team from any claim, loss, liability, penalty, or reasonable cost arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, your breach of a third-party provider’s or exchange’s terms, your redistribution of market data, or your violation of any law or another person’s rights.
17. Governing Law And General Terms
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Kolkata, West Bengal, India have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection you may have in your own country of residence.
If any part of these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining terms will stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclaimer, form the entire agreement between you and Traders Journal for the service, and replace any earlier understanding on the same subject. You may not assign your rights under these terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganisation, merger, or transfer of the business.
